FUTO offers this course with options in:

(i) Nuclear Eng. Tech.

(ii) Chemical Eng.Tech.

(iii) Biochemical Eng. Tech.

Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements


In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Chemical Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology in the above listed universities include;

Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i)  ABU requires Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

(ii) UNIMAID requires Mathematics, Physics and any of Chemistry or Biology. 

(iii) FUPRE requires Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

(iv) FUTO requires Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

(v) MAUTECH requires Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

(vi) UNILAG requires English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics & Physics.

(vii) LANDMARK requires Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

(viii) UNIPORT requires Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

(vix) NUN  accepts any three (3) Science subjects.

O'Level Requirements


The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Chemical Engineering;

You require;

Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English Language and any other Science subject.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) ESUT accepts 'O' Level credit pass in English Language.

(ii) ABU requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other Science subject. (Including Economics, Technical Drawing, Metalwork and Woodwork).

(iii) UNILORIN accepts Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.

(iv) MAUTECH requires Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Technical Drawing/ Geography/ Further Mathematics.

(v) OSUSTECH and UNILAG require 'O' Level credit pass in Further Mathematics as the fifth subject.

(vi) EDSU requires five (5) credit passes at SSC or its equivalent to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and any other Science subject.

(vii) FUTO requires at least five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and any other science subject in not more than two (2) sittings. At least a Pass is required in Biology.

(viii) UNILAG requires Five O/Level credit passes in English, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

(ix)  LANDMARK requires Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, and either credit pass in Further Mathematics, Biology or Technical Drawing.

(x) UNIPORT requires Five (5) SSC credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English Language and any other subject from Biology, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics.

Direct Entry Requirements


These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Chemical Engineering, if you don't intend to use UTME.

You require;

'A' Level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) ABU accepts
a) 'A' Level/IJMB passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics 
b) ND upper credit in Chemical Engineering from accredited institution
c) HND lower credit in Chemical Engineering from any accredited Institution.UNIUYO accepts ND/HND in relevant programmes plus UTME requirements.

(ii) ABUAD accepts HND lower credit and ND upper credit in addition to UTME requirements into 200 level.

(iii) UNIABUJA accepts HND lower credit or ND upper credit in Chemical Engineering plus UTME requirements into 200 level.

(iv) ATBU accepts ND/HND in Chemical Engineering.

(v) UNIBEN - in addition to UTME requirements requires
(a) first degree Second Class Lower in Science or degree in Medicine, Dentistry or Pharmacy and PTI HND lower credit / ND upper credit.
(b) HND upper credit in Engineering/Technology and PTI upper credit into 300 levels.
(c) ND / HND holders should have 'A' grade in Mathematics.

(vi) UNIBEN accepts HND lower credit and ND upper credit plus UTME requirements.

(vii) CARITAS and UNIPORT- No Direct Entry.

(viii) COOU accepts ND/HND lower credit.

(ix) ESUT and UNIBEN require 'A' Level passes in any two (2) of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. ESUT also accepts NCE/ND/HND/first degree with good grades and UTME requirements into 200 or 300 level respectively.

(x) FUTO requires;
a) At least three ‘A’ level passes not below Grade C in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.
b) ND/HND at Upper Credit level in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Geology or Engineering. 
c) First Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Geology or Engineering.
d) Very good passes in three JUPEB subjects namely Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. It does not accept NCE. Candidates must in addition meet UTME ‘O’ Level requirements.

(xi) IOU accepts ND in Engineering and related programmes.

(xii) UNILORIN - Same as Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering. Relevant Programmes include Biomedical Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering Technology, Water and Environmental Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Polymer Engineering.

(xiii) UNILAG accepts
a) very good passes in three (3) JUPEB/'A' Level subjects: Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry.
b) HND/ND distinction in related Engineering Course.
c) Candidate must satisfy UTME requirements.

(xiv) LAUTECH accepts
a) 'A’ Level Passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
b) ND/HND upper credit in related programmes plus the UTME requirements may be considered for admission into 200 level. 

(xv) UNIMAID accepts ND Credit and IJMB 9 points in related programmes.

(xvi) MAUTECH accepts:
a) ND upper credit in Chemical Engineering
b) `A' Level passes and IJMB in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

(xvii) FUTMINNA accepts ND/HND lower credit in addition to UTME requirements.

(xviii) LANDMARK accepts A Level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

(xix) OAU accepts ND upper credit in Chemical Engineering only. 

(xx) OSUSTECH accepts first degree from a recognized university in the relevant subjects not below Second Class Lower.

(xxi) UYO accepts ND/HND in relevant programmes plus the UTME requirements.

(xxii) EDSU accepts;
a) Two (2) 'A' Level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
b) OND/HND not below credit level.
c) Very good passes in JUPEB/IJMB subjects: Literature in English and two (2) Arts or Social Sciences.
d) B.Sc. in Relevant field not below Second Class Lower. 

(xxiii) FUPRE requires ‘A’ Level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

(xxiv) UNIUYO accepts ND/HND in relevant programmes plus UTME requirements.

(xxv) UNIPORT accepts Three (3) Advanced level GCE or HSC or JUPEB or IJMB passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, including UTME entry requirements. OND (upper credit) in the relevant discipline from a recognized and COREN accredited institution including UTME entry requirements. HND (upper credit) in the relevant discipline from a recognized and COREN accredited institution with 2 years working experience including UTME entry requirements.

(xxvi) NUN accepts any two (2) A’ level passes in Science subjects, ND/HND lower credit or NCE merit in relevant programmes.
